The country's youngest National Master (NM) Oshrie Jhames “OJ” Constantino Reyes of Santa Rita, Pampanga rose from the grave to outlast countryman Christian Tolosa of Imus City, Cavite, 4-3, in Armageddon penalty shootout to determine a game winner and capture the Mobile Chess Club Philippines Match UP Series Rapid Edition online tournament virtually held Friday night, September 17, 2021 at Chess.com Platform.
Reyes and Tolosa were tied 3 points each after six games of play, playing black and needed only a draw to win the match in the extra tie breaker, the 10 years old Reyes, a grade 5 student of EZEE, Guagua, Pampanga go for all-out war and checkmated Tolosa, a Grade 4 student of Buhay Na Tubig Elementary School in Imus City, Cavite in 69 moves of Queen's Gambit Declined, Three Knights Variation.
Earlier, down 0-2 to Tolosa in the Rapid play (10 +10) after the first two points, race to 2.5 points (Best of four games), draws will be counted, Reyes won the next two games forcing a tie score at the end of the regulation (2-2 score).
In the 2 blitz game (5+3 time control) tie-break, both 2 blitz games ended into a fighting draw to enter into the armageddon games in this 16 years old and below tournament and adopted meltwater format featuring two of the top guns of Philippine Chess according to Jubail Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based Mr. Jaime "Jimmy" Reyes, father and coach of the young Reyes.

Fondly called OJ in the chess world will see action at the Eastern Asia Youth chess championship slated from October 1-3, 2021.
He earned the title of National Master (NM) after winning the 2021 National Age Group Hybrid Chess Championships Grandfinals Under-10 division held online via the Tornelo platform from June 26 to June 29, 2021.
