Siew Kai Xin eyes revenge vs Melizah Ruth Carreon in GM Balinas Chess Challenge

MANILA, Philippines---Singaporean Siew Kai Xin will have a chance to exact revenge against Filipina foe Melizah Ruth Carreon as they square off in the Grandmaster Rosendo Carreon Balinas Jr. Chess Challenge, Bayanihan Chess Club Match Up Series, Chess For A Cause on July 9, 2021, 9 am Manila Time at Lichess.org.

The Goodwill match, hosted by Bayanihan Chess Club headed by it's co-founding chairman US based frontliner Dr. Joe Balinas and Engr. Antonio "Uncle Paps" Balinas, in close cooperation with Jubail Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based Mr. Jimmy Reyes, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Deputy Director General for Policy and Planning Theo Panga, JC Marikina, International Master Petronio Roca, Mam Elvira Roca, Skin Magical District 4 (CARSIGMA) and Quezon City Simba's Tribe Team Owner Mr. Danilo Ponay, is one of the face-off series pitting local and foreign cue woodpushers in a race-to-7, draws not counted event.

"We are looking for sponsor for this match," said Bayanihan Chess Club founding president AGM Marlon Bernardino.

The event will be aired live over Bayanihan Chess Club as well FB page of Chess Lovers PH and Deorico de Paz Jr.

Carreon is the lady player of PCAP's Cavite Spartans while Kai Xin is the import of Quezon City Simba's Tribe. During their first meeting, Carreon beat Kai Xin in the PCAP chess league.

"I have to train hard for this fight, to give my best, and to give a good show," said Kai Xin, a 2-time Olympiad member of the Singapore National Team.

"I will do my very best," said Carreon.

Future matches of the Grandmaster Rosendo Carreon Balinas Jr. Chess Challenge, Bayanihan Chess Club Match Up Series, Chess For A Cause, Face-Off Series will pit Robert Suelo versus Israel Landicho and Jayson San Jose Visca vs Genghis Imperial.-Marlon Bernardino-
