78th Birthday of Ceferino "Kuya Jun" Isaac online bullet chess tournament on Friday

MANILA, Philippines---All is set for the staging of the 78th Birthday Chess Celebration of Ceferino "Kuya Jun" Isaac Jr. online bullet (1 minute plus 1 second increment) tournament Friday, June 4, 2021 at 10 pm Manila Time at lichess.org.
Fondly called "Kuya Jun" in the chess world, a retired PNP Captain who is currently based in Auckland, New Zealand. He is also member of the PCAP's Cavite Spartans chess team.

The free registration online bullet, 1 minute plus 1 second increment time control tournament is being held to celebrate the birthday of Ceferino "Kuya Jun" Isaac, elder brother of ex-PBA player Leo Isaac.

"The reason why he ( Ceferino "Kuya Jun" Isaac) join chess tourneys despite in his age is to encourage senior chess players to come out and join the fun beating boredness at this time of global pandemic," said Arena Grandmaster Marlon Bernardino, a close confidante of Isaac, who is also board of directors of organizing Bayanihan Chess Club headed by it's co founding chairman US based frontliner Dr. Joe Balinas and engr. Antonio "Uncle Paps" Balinas.

The champion will take home P1,000 with the runner-up getting P600 while the third placer will receive P400.

Cash prizes worth P500 each will also go to the Top Cavite Spartans and Top Senior players 50 years old and above.-Marlon Bernardino-
