On Monday, November 2, the death of José Emilio Graglia, historical boxing leader of the province of Córdoba, Argentina and the WBA, was confirmed. In mid-October, Graglia had been admitted to the Sanatorio del Salvador for a pulmonary decompensation but his situation worsened until he had a cardiac arrest.
Graglia was president of the Cordovan Boxing Federation since 1992 and he was in charge for about 30 years and was vice president of the Argentine Boxing Federation and a member of the World Boxing Association also for about 40 years on the main board.
He joined the board of directors of the AMB in 1988 and was Regional Vice-President of Latin America for four years. From 1992 to 1997 he held the position of member and later was the president of Fedelatin until 2004. Between 2005 and 2014 he was Continental Director and later "Director of Support for Latin America". He promoted several “KO on Drugs” programs in Mendoza, Argentina, and founded the gym under the name of “KO on Drugs”.
“José Graglia was an extraordinary leader, the architect of a model provincial federation such as the Cordovan one. A tireless worker and committed to the growth of our sport, he was active until his last days. His loss is irreparable ”, published the Argentina Boxing Federation.
