CHICAGO - Jhack Tepora's career path took another complicated turn moments ago when he lost to unheralded Oscar Escandon via first round knockout at the Toyota Arena in Ontario California.
A liver shot on the right side of the body quickly ended Tepora's night.
"Naigo ko sir," (I got hit) he told PhilBoxing.com.
Tepora did not beat the count.
Escandon, a native of Colombia (25-5, 17 KOs), was coming off three consecutive losses.
A prohibitive minus 1800 favorite, Tepora was eyed by MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons for big fights in 2020. Instead, it's back to the drawing board as he suffers the first defeat of his career (23-1. 17 KOs).
Tepora will fly back home to the Philippines tomorrow and hopes to come back in January for more training.
More to follow.
