DAVAO CITY -- Mexican Maximino "Max" Flores scored a 7th round technical decision via a split decision over Carlo Cesar "Too Sharp" Penalosa of the Philippines to score an upset win over the vacant International Boxing Organization World flyweight title fight last Aug. 25 at the TV5 Studio in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Referee Garry Dean of Australia was forced to stop the fight due to the constant bleeding of the left eye.

The referee tried to stop it earlier in the 6th round but the fight had continued after a few minutes of discussion whether to stop or to continue the fight.

Kevin Pyne of Australia scored the fight in favor of Penalosa at 67-66 but Adam Height of Australia and Jerrold Tomeldan of the Philippines saw it 67-66 and 68-65, respectively for Flores.

The huge crowd was disappointed with the turnout as they left the studio with still the two bouts left.

Ken "KJ" Jordan of Gen. Santos City scored a 3rd round knockout over Macrea "The Barb Wire" Gandionco of Misamis Oriental to win the vacant Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) super bantamweight title.

The first round was an exiting round with both fight changing punches. In the second round, Jordan had a slight advantage on the punches.

The promoter was Gerry Penalosa of Gerrypens Promotions Inc. (Lito delos Reyes)
