
Caindog to fight for vacant WBO Global minimiweight title

DAVAO CITY -- Orthodox fighter Jomar Caindog of Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte will fight Jing Xiang of China for the vacant World Boxing Organization Global miniflyweight title on Aug. 17 at the ShenZhen Bao'an District Sports Center in Shenzhen, China.
The 24-year old Caindog (10W-1L-1D, 4KO) won against Ryan Ralozo of Cagayan de Oro by a majority decision last April 30, 2019 in Sindangan.
He also settled a unanimous decision against Mike Kinaadman of Iligan last Dec. 21.
The 29-year old Xiang (16W-4L-2D, 3KO) retained his World Boxing Council Silver light flyweight title by a unanimous decision over Suriyan Satorn of Thailand last Suzhou, China last Jan. 5, 2019.
Xiang earlier won the vacant WBC Silver light flyweight title by beating a unanimous decision Merlito Sabillo of Bacolod in Qinzhou, China last Sept. 15.
Xiang also won the vacant World Boxing Organization Inter-Continental light flyweight by UD over Dexter Alimento of Iligan last Jan. 20.
Meanwhile, Xiao Tao Su of China will collide with Shota Yukawa of Japan to face for the vacant WBO Oriental super featherweight title. (Lito delos Reyes)
