
Medura wins interim WBC ABCC super bantamweight title

DAVAO CITY --- Alvin Medura of Zamboanga Sibugay won over Mugicha Nakagawa of Japan by an unanimous decision to win the interim World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council Continental super bantamweight title last Aug. 3 at the The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
It was the 9th victory with 7 knockouts against 4 losses by Medura.
He earlier TKO'd Reynald Condes of Paranaque in the 5th round last July 7, 2018 in Pasay City.
Meanwhile, Japanese Daisuke Sugita beat Crison "Cowboy" Omayao of Valencia City by an unanimous decision in the under card.
The 30-year old Sugita improved his record to 5 wins with 3 knockouts against 1 loss while Omayao suffered his 20th loss against 24 wins and 5 draws.
