Amidst the swirling controversies over IBF minimum weight champion Florante Condes and OPBF light flyweight champion and WBC No.2 ranked Juanito Rubillar, Games and Amusements Board chairman Eric Buhain has moved in and taken charge based on the mandate of the GAB which is primarily to protect our boxers.

In a wide-ranging interview which will be telecast on ?The Main Event? on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. over IBC 13 and replayed over the cable channel Viva Prime, sponsored by Tanduay, the No. 1 Rhum, Buhain revealed what action he has taken and his plans in the case of Condes as well as Rubillar.

Condes, is caught in the middle of a conflict with his management team of Alice Aljoe Jaro, wife of former boxer, now manager and promoter Aljoe Jaro, American co-manager Dante Ortiz and former world junior welterweight champion and trainer Morris East.

To add to the problems Condes has injured both his wrist and his back which will necessitate at least three weeks rest before he can resume training.

In another controversy Juanito Rubillar returned to the fold of Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde whose wife Arlene is reportedly the registered manager of Rubillar who along with Condes lived and trained with East for some time and even received money from the former world champion after signing a contract with him.

Viva Sports and Viva Prime shot footage of Rubillar training at the Bebot Elorde gym in Paranaque and also spoke to Elorde, Rubillar and his trainer Roel Morato. The team also covered the last training session of Condes at the Wild Card Gym in BF Homes, Paranaque.

The top-rated TV boxing show will be capped by the clash between ALA Gym?s touted Joseph Omanz and Roger Benueza in Danao City.
