NOYNAY RETAINS WBO ASIA PACIFIC TITLE

Noynay (L) drops Shimizu.

DAVAO CITY ? Joe ?Jaw Breaker? Noynay of Cebu retained his first WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight title by a TKO over Satoshi Shimizu of Japan in the 6th round at the EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan.

The 23-year old Noynay is now 18 wins with 7 knockouts against 2 losses and 1 draw.

Meanwhile, Filipino Jonathan ?Lightning? Taconing lost by a technical knockout in the 4th round to defending champion Ken ?The Amazing Boy? Shiro of Japan.

It was Taconing?s 4th loss against 28 wins and 1 draw.
The 27-year old Shiro made its 16 victory and the 9th knockout to remain undefeated. It was the 7th title fight of Shiro.
Ryota Murata of Japan avenged his title by a TKO over Rob Brant of United States in the 2nd round to win back the WBA World middleweight title.

Murata, now with 15 wins and 2 losses, earlier lost to Brant by a unanimous decision last Oct. 20 in Las Vegas, USA.
The promoters are Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions and Bob Arum of Top Rank. (Lito delos Reyes)
