Bai Elorde, the undefeated junior lightweight and grandson of the all-time great, the late world champion Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde, has worked out with former world bantamweight and featherweight champion Luisito Espinosa in San Francisco.
In an overseas telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today, Bai Elorde?s mother Liza said that Bai worked out at the Third Street Gym.
Liza Elorde disclosed that Espinosa who now is a green card holder will visit Manila for two weeks beginning March 20 to receive a special award at the Annual Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde ?Banquet of Champions.?
Espinosa indicated that he was hoping to collect the long overdue purse from his title defense against Carlos Rios in Koronadal, South Cotabato on December 6, 1997 amounting to some $150,000.
The former world two division champion works at Cosco.
