THE MORE TRASH TALKING THE MORE INSECURITIES SAYS PACQUIAO

Manny Pacquiao believes Keith Thurman is insecure of the possible outcome of their July 20 fight that's why he resorted to a lot of trash talking. ?I have heard what he has said. The more he trash-talks the more his insecurities show. I know he senses what is coming his way,? Pacquiao was quoted by Boxing Scene.

The Filipino boxing icon thinks he has the better speed and footwork and feels he definitely has the "better experience against better opponents." Pacquiao said that Thurman is going to be surprised by what he sees from him.

Pacquiao's long-time trainer Freddie Roach said Thurman is no longer the same fighter since suffering several injuries. ?(Thurman) usually relies on that big overhand right and lately he hasn?t had any success with it,? said Roach per Boxing Scene. ?He sets it up with a pawing jab and then goes with the big overhand right and his timing is just way off right now, especially in the last three fights."

Roach added that Thurman was knocking opponents out with this combination early in his career. But on his last three fights, things have changed for the undefeated champion since "he is not knocking out anybody with nothing.?

Thurman admitted that the long layoff affected his performance against his last opponent Josesito Lopez. "I was really nervous about making weight after walking around at 182 for the past two years," Thurman was quoted by Boxing Scene.

Roach said Thurman had shown signs of being faded in his last few fights. "And I do feel like he possibly has an injury that has not healed,? he told Boxing Scene. Thurman was always criticized regarding the much-talked about difficult seventh round of his fight with Lopez.

But Thurman said: ?A lot of fighters would not have been able to get out of the round in the way that I did,? referring to that seventh round where he, was almost stopped by Lopez. ?And, to me, it?s just evidence of how great I truly am. Because greatness, you know, they have a saying in boxing ? it?s not about when you get knocked down."

The 30-year-old Thurman survived Lopez?s punishment during the last one minute and 42 seconds of the seventh round on January 26. He regained his senses and controlled the fight again and won by a big margin on two of the three scorecards (117-111, 115-111 and 113-113) in the fight held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The unbeaten fighter from Florida wants to be the "great, devastating champion once again" and he swears to prove it come fight night on July 20.

He aims to win by no less than a knockout that will make him the superior champion in the tough welterweight division. "Of course, I'd like to get the knockout or TKO, but either way, you're going to see a world-class performance that has me standing alone on top of a division that has so many great fighters,? he added.

Before that fight, Lopez (36-7, 19 KOs) won by unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Miguel Cruz. Lopez lost to two-time welterweight champion Andre Berto in 2015, when he was floored twice in the sixth and final round of stoppage where he led in two of the three judges? scorecards.
