OPBF light flyweight champion Juanito Rubillar who left the fold of Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde and his wife Arlene, who is his registered manager, and signed up with former world junior welterweight champion Morris East, has returned to the Elorde camp.

?Bebot? Elorde revealed that after hearing Mass last Sunday, Rubillar?s wife who was reportedly in tears appealed to them to take her husband back. Elorde said Rubillar apologized for what he had done and after Elorde accepted his apology resumed training at the Elorde gym in Saint Rita?s Village along Sucat, Paranaque under trainer Roel Morato.

Earlier, in an interview with Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today, East said both Rubillar and IBF minimum weight champion Florante Condes were training under him at the ?Main Event? gym in Quezon City. He said both fighters were ?in good condition? and were preparing for upcoming fights. However, when we arrived at the gym both fighters were not there. We later learned that both Condes and Rubillar had left and didn't intend to return.

Condes is scheduled to defend his title against IBF No. 6 ranked Raul Garcia in Garcia?s hometown of La Paz, Mexico on February 16 while Rubillar has been ordered to face former world champion Nino Romero with the winner earning a mandatory title shot against champion Edgar Sosa. The WBC earlier sent out a ?Final Reminder? regarding the scheduled purse bid for the light flyweight title final elimination between Rubillar and Omar Nino of Mexico.

WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman informed all promoters registered with the world organization that they will conduct the purse offer on January 14 in Mexico City. There will also be seven other purse bids on the same day.

Rubillar has a record of 41-10-7 with 19 knockouts while No.1 ranked Omar Nino has a record of 24-2-1 with 10 knockouts.

A free negotiation period was ordered by Sulaiman after discussions at the recent WBC 45th Annual Convention in Manila. He sent letters to the fighters and their handlers but initial conversations between Viva Sports and Omar Nino?s promoter Gary Shaw at the request of Rubillar?s manager Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde didn?t work out, because the former world champion?s promoter was asking for too much as a purse in addition to the other perks.
