OAKLAND -- Here's a bit of good news for anxious Warriors fans as Game 4 is about to tip-off within the next hour.
Klay Thompson is "100 percent ready" to rescue the Warriors from what could potentially be a 1-2 series deficit. That, according to Thompson's dad, Mychal, in a brief interview with PhilBoxing.com hours before the must-win assignment.
Thompson missed Game 3's 123-109 debacle after injuring his hamstring late in Game 2, which the Warriors too, 109-104. After aggressive treatments, the team medical staff cleared Thompson.
"It's nerve wracking," the elder Thompson told this writer when asked about how is it like to root for his son in so many Finals since 2015. Mychal himself is no stranger to these moments after having played in the NBA for 13 years and winning two titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1987 and 1988.
Klay Thompson had played in 120 consecutive playoffs games before missing Game 3. A five-time All-Star and 3-time NBA champion, the 6-foot-7, 215-pound shooting guard is averaging 19.5 points in 18 games this postseason.
