DAVAO CITY ? Richie Mepranum of Sarangani landed more telling blows to win by a majority decision over Sen Chen of China to win the vacant International Boxing Federation Pan Pacific super featherweight title last June 1 at the Wynn Palace Cotai in Macao.

Mepranum got scores of 97-93 and 96-94 from the two judges while the third judge had it 95-all.

The 32-year old Mepranum improved to 33 wins with 9 knockouts with 8 loses and 1 draw.

Sean suffered his second loss against 11 wins.

?I felt so down in my career and this win is what I badly need. I feel rejuvenated with my new team at Sanman,? said Mepranum.

?I admit having neglected myself during training thus the losing streak I suffered. But I?m back and I?m on fire. I will train even harder. I am still young and can come back to the top rankings,? added Meptanum. (Lito delos Reyes)
