World-ranked WBC Asian Bantamweight Champion Nawaphon Sor Rungvisai (also known as Nawaphon Kaikanha), shattered the dreams of the "Filipino Cinderella Man" Sonny Boy Jaro by rocking and ravaging in seven rounds the former world titlist in the main event of the televised WP boxing show Saturday, May 18, at the Workpoint Studio in Bang Phun, Kingdom of Thailand.

The younger, stronger Nawaphon (45-1-1, 35 KO's) mercilessly punished the brave veteran Filipino warrior, ending him in a rough KO at the 1:30 seconds mark in chapter 7.

After this devastating defeat at the hands of the world's #6, it's unclear if the fearless 37-year-old Sonny Boy Jaro (45-5-15, 32 KO's) will go on in boxing, or will call it a career.

As for the tall Nawaphon, 27, his devastating win over Jaro was his 9th consecutive victory after his round three TKO loss to then Mexican flyweight world titlist Juan Hernandez Navarrete (35-4, 26 KO's) two years ago in Bangkok.

With renewed confidence, Nawaphon now feels prepared and more than ready for tougher missions and a future second shot at the world title.

Nawaphon -- a friend and stablemate of former super flyweight champ Srisaket Sor Rungvisai -- is promoted by veteran Thai man of boxing Thainchai Pisitwuttinan, director of NKL Promotions.
