
Palicte to fight Ioka for vacant WBO super flyweight title in Japan June 19

DAVAO CITY ? Aston ?Mighty? Palicte of the Philippines will fight Kazuto Ioka of Japan for the vacant World Boxing Organization world super flyweight title on June 19, 2019 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba City in Japan.
The 28-year old Palicte (25W-2L-1D, 21KO) knocked out Jose Martinez of Puerto Rico in the 2nd round last Jan. 31, 2019 in Alpine, USA.
Palicte earlier had a split draw with Donnie Nietes for the vacant WBO World super flyweight last Sept. 8, 2018 in Inglewood, USA.
The 30-year old Ioka (23W-2L-0D, 13KO) suffered a loss by a split decision on Nietes for the vacant WBO world super flyweight title last Dec. 31, 2018.
Ioka earlier won WBC Silver super flyweight title by beating McWilliams Arroyo by a unanimous decision in Sept. 8, 2018 in Inglewood.
He also held on the World Boxing Association world flyweight title for seven times from 2015 to 2017.
