Promoter Gary Shaw says ?everything is fine? in his relations with IBF/IBO flyweight champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire which ran into a rough patch after Donaire complained during a radio interview about how he was treated in his last defense against Luis Maldonado.

Shaw said he had spoken to Donaire for about fifteen minutes in an overseas telephone conversation and told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that ?everything is fine? and that he ?needs to sit down and discuss with him? various aspects of his career. Shaw said Donaire ?understands he can be a big star but there is stuff that must meet in order to become a big star.?

The promoter said plans for Donaire?s next fight depends on his left hand which was swollen after the Maldonado fight in which Donaire claimed he hurt it in the second round. Shaw said ?I want to check out his hand and make sure that it's really right.? In his mind, Shaw said Donaire?s next fight could probably take place in April with the possibility that the fight could be held in the Philippines.

Shaw plans to visit Manila to relax on a three day vacation on January 21 and plans to also spend some time in Cebu. Shaw said he is coming to Manila because of his ?love for the Filipinos.?

He said he would also wish to sit down and talk to boxing writers who had reportedly expressed a desire to meet with him during his visit as guest of Solar Sports who arranged the present trip of Donaire.
