Manny Pacquiao stressed that he cherished what Bob Arum and other persons who work for Arum?s Top Rank Inc., did for him all throughout his distinguished boxing career. According to the senator he and Arum have no financial issues or other problems to settle.

?We don?t have a problem with Bob Arum,? Pacquiao said. ?I?m so thankful with him. Because of him, he helped me a lot with my career here in America. And I don?t have a problem with Bob Arum. I?m really thankful in my life that God used him to help me here in the United States. So, I?m thankful for him.?

Pacquiao reasoned out that he shifted to Al Haymon because of their fighters. "I?m working with Al Haymon and consulting him for this big opportunity for me and my boxers that I have in the Philippines,? he said. ?You know, so it?s a big opportunity for them."

Haymon has a contract with FOX and Showtime and now co-promotes Pacquiao?s fights together with MP Promptions. Haymon also handles such fighters as welterweight champions Shawn Porter, Errol Spence Jr. and Keith Thurman, among others. This will give Pacquiao a lot of lucrative choices for his next opponent if he defeats Adrien Broner on January 19 and Floyd Mayweather Jr. would not fight Pacquiao again later this year.

?I?m not thinking about myself alone, but I?m thinking about my fighters. I have a lot of fighters in the Philippines, at least 50 boxers, and I want them to have a chance here, in America, to fight," added Pacquiao.

Pacquiao has been interviewed over and over again about a possible rematch with Mayweather and he commented on his former archrival?s brief demolition of Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa that lasted less than two minutes on New Year?s Eve.

?It?s my first time to see an exhibition where you knock your opponent out,? Pacquiao said. ?Supposedly an exhibition is just to entertain people, nothing serious, for three rounds. But that?s what I understand about exhibitions.?

He then commented on a possible second fight with Mayweather. ?I have no problem fighting anybody as long as there is no problems with the negotiations,? said Pacquiao. ?My plan is just one at a time.?

Pacquiao reacted to reporters regarding rumored plans of running for president saying that he had set aside any future political aspirations as he concentrates on defending his WBA title against Broner on January 19 in Las Vegas.

?A lot of people are saying that I can be the next President,? Pacquiao told AFP. ?But I?m not thinking about that. I don?t have plans right now. Whatever path that God gives to me I will fulfill it.?

?Being a public servant is different from sports. It?s more on the mind and a lot of problems, thinking about how to solve those problems in the country, and also to provide solution to those problems," the Senator added.

Freddie Roach also commented on Pacquiao's political plans. ?I haven?t spoken to him to about running for president but he wants to help the people and the best way to help people is to be the boss,? Roach told reporters. ?He probably wants to be the first President to win a world championship. He?s always been guy who does 100 things at once.?
