BATTLE OF BUTUAN III. Exciting boxing is set to thrill fight fans as veteran "Fantasy Warrior" Billy John Dingdong Qui?ones of South Cotabato enters battle against KO Warrior "The Matrix" Angelito Merin, 28, of Iloilo in the 10-rounder super bantamweight main event scheduled for Sunday December 23 in the heart of the flourishing Caraga region, Butuan City.

In the light flyweight co-feature, young Butuan warrior Stephen Intino (2-1-1, 0 KO's) squares off for a third time nemesis Jerry Tabago (1-4, 0 KO's) of Koronadal in a six-rounder non-stop action clash.

Stephen Intino.

The two men have already fought two wars, the last one a close split decision last October, for which this rematch rumble is absolutely necessary.

Plus, Ernesto Camiguing (1-0, 1 KO) of Butuan takes on well-tough, well-trained Jorge Perez (0-1, 0 KO's) in a hot four-rounder in the Flyweight division.

In his pro debut last October, Camiguing looked impressive and confident, throwing damaging punches and totally vaporizing unheralded Koronadal boxer Noel Rosa (0-9, 0 KO's) in less than three minutes.

Lets see how Camiguing will fight against Jorge Perez, a confident young gladiator from General Santos.

MORE EXCITING FIGHTS

Furthermore, rookie Grant Elorza, 21, of Butuan climbs the ring to engage more experienced Rio Gulipatan, 23, of Norala, South Cotabato, in a four-chapter saga in the 105 weight class.

In addition, local kid Cristian Tindasan steps for the very first time in pro boxing as he exchanges rough leather against southpaw Rudy Padua (0-2, 0 KO's) of Davao. Their 4-stanza skirmish is in the featherweight division.

Also, 22 year-old Elmer Justo from the Lungsod sa Talacogon battles Noel Rosa of Koronadal in a 4-chapter duel in the minimumweight division.

What's more, Elmer Bayson from the historic Home of the Balangays, Butuan, makes his pro boxing debut against fellow debutant Anthony Uy of the Dakbayan sa Hingoog in Misamis Oriental. Their four-round hard collision is in the 105-pound weight class.

The first pro bout of the exciting show will feature debutants Jeffrey Mulaan of BXU and Ronel Musa of Gingoog going full-force at each other in a scheduled four-round match-up in the 118-pound division.

Plus, fans in attendance will have the chance to be thrilled with action-packed amateur boxing featuring young promising boxers from all over Mindanao; and the attendance to this awesome show unfolding the day before Christmas Eve is totally free.

It could not be better.

So bring your family and barkada to this splendid boxing Christmas treat at Robinsons Place Butuan

The Battle of Butuan III on December 23 at Robinsons Place Butuan is a production of promoters Yu and Luckey, and supervised by the GAB Games and Amusement Board.
