Curry, still NBA's three-point king

The Golden State Warriors might have suffered their first loss of the young NBA season, when they bowed to the Denver Nuggets, 100-98, over the weekend.
Before the final buzzer sounded out on that day, however, the Warriors ?splash brothers? Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson moved up in the league?s record books in three-point shooting.
Curry, The Warriors Wire reported, knocked down six from deep, allowing him to pass up Paul Pierce for sixth all-time on the same list.
That moved the back-to-back MVP only eight makes away from passing Jamal Crawford 2153 into the Top 5 along with Kyle Korver, Jason Terry, Reggie Miller and Ray Allen.
Thompson, for his part, advanced into a tie with Glen Rice for 23rd all-time in three-pointers made in the regular season, 31 makes away from passing up Mike Miller for 22nd on the list.
In a separate report by The NBC Sports Bay Area the following day, Curry surpassed his own NBA 3-point shooting record in the Warriors? 123-103 rout of the Phoenix Suns.
For the first time in his NBA career, Curry opened the season with three consecutive games of scoring at least 30 points, a streak that was snapped when he scored a point shy 29 against the Suns.
Nothing of a naught though as it came as a special night for the five-time All Star, as he and his father, Dell, moved past Dolph and Danny Schayes and into second place on the NBA's all-time scoring list for father-son tandems.
The Currys have combined for 27,226 points and now trail only Joe and Kobe Bryant?s 38,895.
Steph?s 22 three-pointers through the first four games of the season are a new NBA record for most threes through the first four games. Curry set the previous mark of 21 in 2015-16.
Curry went 6 for 13 from beyond the arc against the Suns, which came as a surprise considering that he started 0-of-5 in the first quarter.
Curry is 22 for 47, or 46.8 percent from 3-point territory so far this season. If he maintains this pace, he would end up with 451 3-pointers, which would shatter the NBA record 402 that he set in 2015-16.
In the Warriors' fifth game that season, Curry went 7 for 11 from deep against the Clippers. And in the sixth game, he went 8 for 16 against the Nuggets.
This means Curry made 36 3-pointers through the first six games, so he has his work cut out for him if he wants to eclipse that mark.
The Warriors' next two opponents are the Washington Wizards and New York Knicks, who Curry has torched both throughout his career - 26.1 points per game against the former (4th most vs any team), 48.6 percent from deep (5th best vs any team)[ and 24.6 points per game against the latter (8th most vs any team), 50.7 percent from deep (2nd best vs any team).
