WBC World Champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (46-4-1, 41 KO's) of Thailand and Mexican challenger Ir?n "Magn?fiKO" Diaz (14-2-3, 6 KO's) successfully made weight in their first try at the scales for their WBC SuperFly World Title battle Saturday (Oct 6) at the plush Impact Arena in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.
Dead-serious and focused, Sor Rungvisai easily made 114.6 lbs., while the relaxed-looking Diaz scaled-in at the limit of division, 115 pounds.
Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is seen by boxing fans as one of the most formidable super flyweight punchers since the fighting times legendary 115-pounder ruler Khaosai Galaxy (47-1, 41 KO's), also a rough slugger from Thailand.
Relentless and owner of devastating power, Sor Rungvisai is widely expected to retain title over the taller Iran Diaz, a little known world-ranked Mexican boxer in his second foray in an overseas battlefield. In his first fight abroad, Diaz was knocked out in seven rounds in France.
Dethroning the powerful Thai destroyer in his own backyard might not be an easy task for the well-trained Diaz, though in boxing nothing is impossible and 'May the Best Man Win.'
The Sor Rungvisai vs Diaz fight can be seen live and free tomorrow Saturday (Oct 6) on this youtube link provided by the card's promoter ONE Championship Boxing:
