Reigning NBA champs Warriors reveal training camp roster

Five days into their training camp opens on Tuesday, the NBA champions Golden State Warriors announced their full roster for the final phase of their preparations in their bid for a rare three-peat.

The roster, as announced by the franchise?s public relations office, listed 18 players -- 13 of them with guaranteed spots, four non-guaranteed contracts, and one two-way contract.

Noticeably absent from the released list is Parick McCaw, who remains unsigned after management extended the qualifying offer, making him a restricted free agent.

Also worth noting is that Will Cherry, who, reportedly, was going to sign a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract with the team, is not listed.

Listed in the guaranteed roster spots were Jordan Bell, Quinn Cook, DeMarcus Cousins, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Jacob Evans III, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Jonas Jerebko, Damian Jones, Shaun Livingston, Kevon Looney and Klay Thompson.

Damion Lee was the only player in the two-way contract list, while those in the non-guaranteed camp invites were Marcus Derrickson, Danuel House Jr., Alfonzo McKinnie and Kendrick Nunn.

McCaw, reports said, has been holding out, presumably hoping that another team will give him an offer sheet that exceeds the qualifying offer.

With the Warriors using just 13 of their 15 available roster spots, the team is clearly holding a spot open for McCaw to avail of. It looks like both the management and the young, talented wing man expect to resolve the impasse any time soon.

Golden State is openly only planning on using 14 of their roster spots, so McCaw would, presumably, by the final guaranteed contract signed. But in training camp, one of their four non-guaranteed contracts may earn a two-way contract, as the team has one of those left to offer.

The new-look Los Angeles Lakers and the finally-healthy Boston Celtics, meanwhile, rejuvenated their respective line ups, for their renewed NBA title hunt and foil the Warriors? from making history only three teams have so far achieved in the history of the world?s oldest pro-league.

Only three teams in NBA history have succeeded in crowning themselves champions for three uninterrupted seasons -- the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and he Chicago Bulls.

All three franchises have done the feat twice.

The Celtics, incidentally, have the distinction of having won NBA championships 17 times, followed by the Lakers with 16. The Bulls and the Warriors are tied at even steven with six each.

The Bay Area franchise has yet to win three straight, which coach Steve Kerr, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant ad teammates are chasing in the coming 2K19 season to attain legendary status.

Quite co-incidentally, the Lakers and the Celtics, the two teams the Warriors are pursuing for all-time greatness, have both been pegged as the best most-likely to win the title on the strength of their bold attempts to strengthen their team composition during the pre-season.
