OYAN LOSES AGAIN IN AUSTRALIA

Filipino Robert Oyan has lost his fifth straight fight, dropping a unanimous eight round decision to Australian featherweight Davey Browne at the Bonnyriggs Sports Club in Sydney.

With the win the undefeated Browne improved to 9-0-1 with 3 knockouts while Oyan fell to an unbelievable 18-31-4 with 6 knockouts.

Besides a huge discrepancy in height where Browne was listed at 5? 11 ?? and Oyan 5?5? the records showed that Oyan has been moving up and down in weight merely to get fights in Australia which is what his manager Dido Bohol had complained about to Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today.

For the Browne fight Oyan came in just over 125 pounds but in his last fight on October 12 he fought at 135 pounds and earlier on March 7 at 138 ? pounds.

The hope is that after the recent 45th Annual Convention of the WBC in Manila and meetings of the OPBF under its highly respected president Frank Quill, steps will soon be taken to ensure order and a stop to mismatches in Australia.
