KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Filipino IBF Super Flyweight World Champion Jerwin Ancajas received the coveted IBF Ring of Champion from the hands of International Boxing Federation (IBF) President Daryl J. Peoples and IBF Ratings Committee Chairman Anibal Miramontes at a press conference held today (July 13) at Le Meridien Hotel here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"It is with a pleasure that the IBF hands you the Ring of Champion to you, Jerwin Ancajas, in recognition to your achievements and your dedication to the sport of boxing," said the IBF Prez.

Jerwin "Pretty Boy" Ancajas (30-1-1, 20 KO's) captured the IBF Super Flyweight World title after defeating Puerto Rican McJoe Arroyo in September of 2016; and has defended it by stopping Mexican Jose Alfredo Rodriguez in Macao, ravaging Japanese fighter Teiru Kinoshita with a body attack in six chapters in Brisbane, Australia; then, overpowered Irishman Jamie Conlan in six rounds in Belfast Northern Ireland.

Furthermore, he stopped Mexican Israel Gonzalez in ten rounds in Corpus Christi, Texas; and more recently Jerwin Ancajas defended his IBF belt for a fifth time by outclassing in an ESPN televised fight fellow Filipino Jonas Sultan last May in Fresno, California.

Ancajas will defend his title again on Sep. 14 as a co-main event of the Jose Ramirez vs Antonio Orozco world title fight at the Save Mart Arena in Fresco, California that will be broadcast live on USA ESPN and ESPN+ in a Top Rank Promotions event.

In addition to being a very active IBF World Champion, Jerwin Ancajas is also a reserve officer in the Philippine Navy.

Present in the brief, yet meaningful ceremony were members of Ancajas Team, Joven Jimenez and Sean Gibbons. The 26 year-old hard-hitting Filipino is managed by MP Promotions of Manny Pacquiao; and promoted in the U.S. by Top Rank.

Congratulations Jerwin Ancajas.
