The only dispute over the signing of the contract for the IBF title eliminator between Z ?The Dream? Gorres and reigning IBO super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan of Australia was the issue of the gloves.

Gorres? handlers had a preference for both fighters wearing Everlast gloves but Darchinyan wanted to use Cleto Reyes gloves which are referred to as ?puncher?s gloves.?

Michael Aldeguer who has quietly assumed the mantle of his father, Tony Aldeguer, told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that they had agreed to allow each fighter to choose the gloves he wants to wear which is the rule followed in Las Vegas.

Aldeguer said he would discuss with Gorres when he returns to Cebu today from the WBC Convention which ended Friday at the historic Manila Hotel, what gloves he would prefer to wear now that Darchinyan had decided on the Reyes gloves.

Internationally respected matchmaker Samson Lewkowicz informed Aldeguer that they had come to terms with the Darchinyan camp and that promoter Gary Shaw who is the promoter of the Australian gave his approval and said ?bravo.?

Aldeguer disclosed that after the gloves issue was settled, the Gorres camp signed the fight contract which means that the planned purse bid scheduled for November 20 was out.

Earlier, the chairman of the IBF Championship Committee Lindsey Tucker Jr informed Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today ?I did get a copy of the contract from Vic Darchinyan?s camp. I want to verify it with Gary Shaw Productions. Plus I?m still waiting for a contract from the Z Gorres camp.?

Tucker added ?If I get a confirmation from Gary Shaw Productions and a signed contract from Z Gorres? camp before Tuesday, November 20 I will cancel the Purse Bid scheduled for November 20.?
