Unbeaten Filipino boxer Jack Tepora (21-0, 16 KOs) joins eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao in search for two new major world titles for the Philippines when they collide with their respective foes on July 15 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Tepora is featured in the main supporting event of the ?Fight of Champions,? a weekend boxing event put together by Manny Pacquiao?s MP Promotions in collaboration with Oscar de la Hoya?s Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) in Malaysia.

In the action-packed event, Pacquiao will try to snatch the WBA welterweight belt of Lucas Matthysse of Argentina while Tepora will attempt to grab the vacant WBA Featherweight title with a victory over Mexican Edivaldo "Indio" Ortega (26-1-1, 12 KOs).

Tepora is coming off five knockout wins since his unanimous decision victory over Andre Palas in 2016 for the vacant PBF Super Bantamweight title.

The 25-year-old southpaw from Cebu City, Philippines is the reigning WBO Inter-Continental Featherweight titlist following his KO victory over Lusanda Komanisi of South Africa last year at the Orient Theater in East London.

?I?m now 70 percent ready and my condition is OK,? Tepora told The Manila Times in an online interview a few days ago.

?This world title fight could be the bridge to achieving my dream of becoming a world champion,? Tepora added.

While Ortega has a lower KO rate at 43 percent, it would be a tough fight for Tepora as the 28-year-old Mexican has more fight exposure. Last January Ortega defeated Tepora?s compatriot Drian Francisco via a unanimous decision at the Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana, Mexico.

It will be Ortega?s first fight overseas and first major title fight.

Meanwhile, GBP?s Oscar de la Hoya, who co-promotes ?The Fight of Champions? with Pacquiao?s MP Promotions is set to fly to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to help Pacquiao in promoting the fight in a few days. The former Pacquiao foe quashes reports that the Pacquiao-Matthysse fight is in jeopardy.

"I might be there for about ten days, I want to go out there and help Manny promote and do my rounds in Malaysia. I have my plane tickets already. So we're set to go, we have a fight," De La Hoya insisted. Read more: http://philboxing.com/news/story-137419.html
