
Results from Bacolod: Zulueta Decisions Ganoza, Wins ABF Minimumweight Belt

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental -- In an close 10-rounder, unbeaten Bacolod fighter John Michael Zulueta (8-0-2, 3 KO's) of the MP-Highland Boxing Team outpointed in a split decision Cris Ganoza (15-2, 8 KO's) of Cebu's Big Yellow Boxing Stable to claim the vacant Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) 105 Lbs title Saturday night (June 30) in Bacolod City, Philippines.
No knockdowns were produced in a contest in which both fighters had their moments. The third man in charge was Dan Nietes of Bacolod.
In attendance in ringside were promoter former GAB Chairman Juan Ramon Guanzon, Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) president Naris Singwancha of Thailand, Bacolod City Mayor Hon. Evelio "Bing" Leonardia, GAB Chief Secretary Jackie Lou Cacho, Glenn S. Agena of GAB Cebu Office and GAB Commissioner for Operations Eduard B. Trinidad.

After their fight, Ganoza and Zulueta are friendly to each other. No hard feelings at all.
In the chief supporting bout, super lightweight Joepher Monta?o (9-2-2, 8 KO's) of Davao City proved too strong for 37 year-old journeyman brawler Danilo Pe?a of Tawi Albay who decided not to come out for more fire at the beginning of the seventh round, a TKO win for Montano who is willing to take on more demanding challenges.
The evening of boxing at Gaisano City Mall Bacolod was a promotion of Brico Santig's MP-Highland Boxing Team in Association with Guanzon Boxing and the Naris Singwancha Foundation.
