Manny Pacquiao won?t commit the same mistakes that he made when he last fought against Jeff Horn, conditioning coach Justin Fortune said that the 39-year-old Pacquiao, who fights Argentina's Lucas Matthysse for the World Boxing Association welterweight title on July 15 in Malaysia, has learned his lesson.

?He knows he can?t afford to stay on the ropes and get trapped in the corner because that?s where Matthysse wants him,? said Fortune as told to The Manila Bulletin.

Fortune commented that Pacquiao?s gaffe during his last fight was to let the Australian bruiser to corner him. ?We are not going to repeat that,? promised Fortune. He said Matthysse is slow but dangerous. ?You don?t take him lightly."

Buboy Fernandez, Pacquiao's new chief trainer, says two sparmates have developed reluctance towards sparring with the Filipino boxing icon.

A third sparmate, Australian George Kambosos, resorted to counter-punching to avoid getting hit as often as the two Filipino sparmates, reported Nick Giongco of Manila Bulletin. ?Right now we are at 80 percent,? said Fernandez.
