ALA Promotions IDOL 3 Presscon Report: Cataraja Battles Rohi in Tabuelan, Northern Cebu (PHOTOS)

CEBU CITY, Philippines -- Promising unbeaten Filipino 122-pounder Kevin Jake "KJ" Cataraja (7-0, 6 KO's) affirmed today during ALA Promotions presscon at St Mark's Hotel here in Cebu City that he is ready to battle Indonesian warrior Frengky Rohi as the two boxers are set to collide in a hot 10-rounder this Saturday (June 16) at Tabuelan Astrodome in the Municipality of Tabuelan, 100 Km north of Cebu City.

"I am from Tabuelan in Northern Cebu," said KJ Catajara during presscon. "Fighting there in my hometown for the first time in front of my mother, my whole family and barkada makes me proud. I am not going to disappoint them."

KJ Cataraja and Frengki Rohi -- both 23 years-of-age -- star as the main event of IDOL 3, the ALA Promotions action-packed boxing series forging the "Future of Philippines Boxing."

In the 10-rounder co-main event, tough 20 year-old puncher Virgel Vitor (12-1, 7 KO's) of Bohol will trade heavy bombs with Gerpaul Valero, 27, of Mandaue City in an exciting super flyweight battle that is very likely to end by knockout.

Also set to see action is undefeated 108-pounder Christian Bacolod (8-0, 6 KO's) of Cebu City, squaring off the dangerous Mervin Lulu, 22, of Sultan Kudarat. Their 8-rounder promises to thrill fans Saturday night at Tabuelan Astrodome. Christian Bacolod, 23, is trained daily by coach Peter Cuizon at ALA Gym in Talamban, Cebu.



More pro fights are featured in IDOL 3, including Jimmy Paypa of Lanao del Norte pit against tough Jhun Ryan Quimbo; Esneth Domingo versus fearless Ryan Makiputin; plus unbeaten Justin Darap, 20, of Mandaue versus tiger heart warrior Elmer Liboon.

The first bout of IDOL 3 will match debutant super flyweight JR Villafuerte of Hinobaan, Negros Occidental in battle against fellow Negros Occidental native Tomas Rebusit Jr. of Murcia.

Present during the entertaining IDOL 3 presscon at St. Mark's Hotel were the Hon Mayor of Tabuelan Rex Gerona, Cebu Radio personality John Magat of Y101FM and ALA chief coach Edito Villamor.

Also in attendace where members of the Cebu sports media as well as ALA Boxing executives Jeana Alvarez and Lanie "Lanie" Perpetua. The master of ceremonies hosting IDOL 3 was Arjan Gibs Dadula.

The weigh-in for the boxers in IDOL 3 will take place Friday (June 15) at J MALL in Mandaue City at exactly 11 am.

IDOL 3 at Tabuelan Astrodome is produced by ALA Boxing Promotions of promoter Michael D. Aldeguer in collaboration with ABS CBN Sports + Action and Island Premium Paints.
