NBA FEATS, FACTS AND FIGURES 2: WARRIORS VS. CAVALIERS BECOMES AN EXCITING FINALS

Most of the Las Vegas sportsbooks betting had the Cleveland Cavaliers considered as the biggest underdog in at least 16 years in the NBA Finals. The Cavs were so overlooked, that the Western Conference finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets were widely regarded as might have been the real Finals.

Lebron James performed exceptionally in the games in the Finals in previous seasons. But none of them compares with what he did Thursday night when he scored 51 points on 19-of-32 shooting, grabbed eight rebounds and dished eight assists in the Warriors' 124-114 overtime win in Game 1 of the NBA Finals

Stephen Curry is regarded as the greatest shooter of all time and a scoring champion, and became the only unanimous MVP in NBA history. He scored 29 points on 11-of-23 shooting, including a 5-of-11 showing from beyond the arc in their Finals Game 1 victory.

During the 2012?13 season, Curry set the NBA record for most three-pointers made in a regular season with 272. He broke that record in 2015 with 286, and surpassed it again in 2016 with 402.

In the 2013?14 season, Curry and teammate Klay Thompson were dubbed the Splash Brothers and set the NBA record for combined three-pointers in a season with 484, a record they broke the following season with 525 and reset again in the 2015?16 season with 678.

LeBron?s athletic career began by playing running back for the East Dragons youth football team under coach Bruce Kelker. He scored 17 touchdowns in six games during his first season. While playing basketball at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, James was also recruited to play football by Notre Dame, together with other Division I schools.

James played the role of wide receiver and was chosen to the first-team all-state as a sophomore when he his team entered the state semifinals. He injured his left wrist in an AAU basketball game prior to his senior season, that' why James? football career ended. ?He definitely could have been an NFL player,? former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry was quoted by the New York Times.

LeBron James won the regular-season NBA MVP award, the NBA Finals MVP award, and an Olympic gold medal in the same year 2012, becoming the second player to do so. Michael Jordan was the first to do it in 1992.

The Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers holds the record of most Finals apperances for an NBA team. with 31. They won 16 and lost 15 finals. The last finals stint was in 2010 where they became NBA champions. The team has appeared in the Finals in every decade since the 1940s. They have won 11 titles in Los Angeles and 5 in Minneapolis. They also scored a rare three-peat in Minneapolis from 1952 to 1954, and repeated another successive triple crown in Los Angeles from 2000 to 2002.
