Fireworks are expected when tough Leyte?o southpaw Cris Ganoza (15-1, 8 KO's) of the Big Yellow Boxing Gym in Cebu trades artillery against unbeaten John Michael Zulueta (7-0-2, 3 KO's) of Bacolod for the vacant Asia Boxing Federation (AFB) Minimumweight (105 lbs) title June 30 at Gaisano Grand Mall in the City of Bacolod, Negros Occidental.

"It's a good match-up. Ganoza and Zulueta are young fighters aiming for a big break in their boxing careers. The winner gets the ABF belt and moves forward in boxing," commented the fight's matchmaker Brico Santig, winner of this year's WBC Oriental Promoter of the Year Award.

Indeed, the 12-round rumble is the perfect chance for Ganoza and Zulueta to raise their game even highter as both fighters come from scoring convincing wins last February.

Cris Ganoza, 23, outpointed journeyman Donny Mabao on February 25 in Iligan City, while the 22 year-old Zuleta overpowered Davaoe?o Bonjun Loperez last February 17 in Bacolod.

Will the more-experienced, heavier-puncher Cris Ganoza land his damaging blows on the determined Zulueta, a boxer who trains at high-altitude in the Highland Boxing Gym in Benguet?

Or will it be "The Striker" John Michael Zulueta the one to rock down Cris Ganoza, forcing him to taste the bitterness of defeat?

Boxing fans in attendance at Gaisano Grand Bacolod will find out as more action-packed pro fights will complete the exciting boxing event.

"Bakbakan: Ganoza vs Zulueta" for the ABF Minimumweight title June 30 in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, is a co-promotion of Highland Boxing and Guanzon Boxing in coordination with the Boxing Development program of Bacolod City Mayor Hon. Evelio "Bing" Leonardia.

Fights begin at 4 PM.
