Mugicha and Manufoe pose with the WBA officials during the weigh-in ceremoney at GAB offices today.

MAKATI CITY, Philippines -- Both fighters, Japanese Mugicha Nakagawa of Tokyo and opponent Ricky Manufoe of Surakarta, Indonesia, made 122 lbs (55.33 Kgs) ahead of their collision for the vacant WBA Asia East Super Bantamweight Title.

The 10-rounder clash will take center stage tomorrow Saturday (May 19) at Elorde Sports Complex in Para?aque, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The Indonesian Manufoe came-in at 123 lbs in his first try, one pound above the super bantam weigh class limit. He then went out for a one-hour run under the rather strong Manila noon-time sun, came back sweating, stood on the scales, and the committed fighter marked exactly 122 lbs., and we have a fight.

During the WBA rules meeting, it got confirmed that the 3-knock down rule is indeed in effect, and also that there is no standing 8-second count.

The Indonesian will fight from the Blue corner while the Japanese will come out from the red; and the approved 8 oz gloves are Twin brand gloves manufactured in Thailand.

The officials for this WBA Asia East sanctioned fight are: referee Silvestre Abainza, and ringside judges Gregorio Ortega, Gil Robiego Co and Jerrold Tomeldan, all from the Philippines. The fight supervisor is Antonio M. Comia of the Philippine's Games and Amusement Board (GAB).

TWO 12-ROUNDER FOR FILIPINO BELTS

The Vallespin vs Mambuanag rumble is a rematch as the two men already fought, thrilling fans, Vallespin getting the nod.

Their first battle was an exciting action-packed 12-rounder at MOA back in December of 2016, and fans want more of that.
