
Wake, Canto Ready for Battle in Tokyo

Japanese Super Bantamweight Shingo Wake (和氣慎吾) (23-5-2, 15 KO's) and Filipino Roman Canto (12-10-3, 7 KO's) successfully weighed-in for their non-title 8-rounder scheduled for Tuesday April 17 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The Japanese southpaw Wake weighed-in on the limit of the division, while Canto, 28, a veteran Filipino warrior from Iloilo weighed in 100g under the limit.
Tuesday's fight will be the 5th time that Canto battles in Japan, all his previous rumbles have been loses. Canto has also fought in Australia and Thailand with similar negative results; however, tomorrow success could come.
Meanwhile, Wake, 30, is a former world-ranked OPBF Super Bantamweight champion who fought for the IBF-122 world title in 2016, losing by stoppage to Dominican Republic knock out artist Jonathan Guzman (22-1, 22 KO's).
The card Tuesday April 17 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo is a production of Tokyo's Reason Promotions.
