IBF Championship chairman Lindsey Tucker Jr has asked the promoters of Z ?The Dream? Gorres and Vic Darchinyan to begin negotiations immediately for an IBF world title eliminator with the winner assured of a mandatory shot at newly crowned champion Dimitri Kirilov of Russia.

After receiving emails from both Tony Aldeguer who handles Gorres and Darchinyan?s camp, Tucker set a November 8 deadline for negotiations to be concluded.

Tucker informed Golden Boy Promotions vice president Eric Gomez who is the promotional outfit of Gorres and Gary Shaw who is Darchinyan?s promoter that ?in the event they are unable to come to an amiable agreement, the IBF may order a purse bid.?

Tucker said that ?if either fighter decides not to participate in the negotiations or purse bid procedure? the IBF will ?move down the rankings to determine who will fight for the No.1 position.?

Tucker cited IBF Rule 9.D: which states that ?the two highest ranked available contenders have the obligation to proceed to a purse bid if so order by the President? who is Marian Muhammad.

Aldeguer has indicated that Gorres is looking forward to fighting Darchinyan who last week won the IBO super flyweight title with a twelfth round TKO over rugged Federico Catubay. If the title eliminator pushes through it is likely to take place sometime early next year.

The cocky Darchinyan who was previously undefeated suffered a stunning fifth round KO at the hands of ?The Filipino Flash? Nonito Donaire last July 7.
