KIDAPAWAN CITY --- Cagayan de Oro and Digos City both won all their respective bouts in Day 1 (Feb. 10) of the Mindanao Quarter Finals of PSC-Pacquiao Amateur Boxing Cup at the Kidapawan City Gym here.

Five boxers of CDO Mayor Oscar Moreno prevailed over their separate rivals at the start of the two-day event sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission in cooperation with the officer of Sen. Manny Pacquiao.

PSC Commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey was the guest speaker while Mayor Joseph Evangelista gave the welcome address and declared the opening of the fights.

Fifteen-year old Peter John Payla, a nephew of 2006 Asian Games flyweight champion Violito, scored the first win for CDO via a unanimous decision against Davao City?s Emmanuel Canubas in the Jr. Boys pinweight division.

It was followed by another UD victory by Mark Lester Durens, who outclassed Ben John Rey Yagahon of Barangay Aglayan in the Jr. Boys light flyweight category.
