AUTIDA BEATS ESCOBIA IN CANDELARIA

MANILA ? Former WBA Asia Bantamweight champion Jestoni ?Lion Heart? Autida and Juanito Paredes scored contrasting wins last Monday at the Candelaria Cockpit in Candelaria, Quezon.

Autida, who is based in Mandaluyong City landed more telling blows in beating the former LuzProBA super flyweight champion Michael Escobia by a unanimous decision in the main event.

All three judges Virgilio Garcia (97-93), Jerrold Tomeldan (96-94) and Sammy Bernabe (98-92) scored in favor of the 26-year old Autida, who improved his record to 11 wins with five knockouts against seven losses and no draw.

Escobia, a native of Candijay, Bohol suffered his 17th loss against 12 wins with 3 knockouts and one draw.

Paredes, on the other hand, pummeled to submission Juanito Paredes by a technical knockout in 1:14 of the 1st round. Paredes of Iloilo City now has four wins with one knockout against five defeats and one draw.

The boxing card was promoted by Rufino M. Panagan of Raffy Panagan Sports Promotion with the presence of Games and Amusements Board (GAB Commissioner Mar Masanguid.
