
FEU TAMARAWS WOODPUSHERS VERSUS LPU-MANILA PIRATES CHESS SQUAD

WILL the Far Eastern University (FEU) woodpushers overpower the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila Campus chess squad, or will the Pirates manage to tame the Tamaraws?
The two hottest University team will collide on Sunday, February 4, 2018 when the first-ever Philippine Chess Blitz Online Face Off Series Team Competition format gets underway in Alabang Hills Village, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
Under the guidance of multi-titled coach Grandmaster (GM) Jayson Gonzales, the FEU Tamaraws, UAAP Champions in the Juniors Division will field Dale Bernardo, Jeth Morado, John Merill Jacutina and John Marvin Miciano, a formidable line-up indeed.
The LPU Pirates who are the NCAA Vice-Champions in the Seniors Division, on the other hand, will be manned by Virgen Gil Ruaya, Romulo Curioso, Artrino Paul Fortin and Jonathan Jota.
"I will broadcast a cross-collegiate league match-up between the FEU Tamaraws, UAAP Champions in the Juniors Division, and the LPU Pirates who are the NCAA Vice-Champions in the Juniors Division." said tournament organizer Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) founding president Atty. Cliburn Anthony A. Orbe.
"All blitz chess format game simultaneously can be watch live and replay at YouTube Cliburn Anthony Orbe's channel," he added.
LPU-Manila Pirates head chess coach engineer Christopher Cunanan had something to say.
"This will be an exciting friendly match between two powerhouse teams in the UAAP and the NCAA. Expect fireworks on the board," said LPU-Manila Pirates head chess coach engineer Christopher Cunanan.
