WBC president Jose Sulaiman says the premier world boxing organization will present a special award to Philippine president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo during the WBC Convention in Manila this November.

In an overseas telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today from his home in Mexico City, Sulaiman said ?we know of her support to sports and very specially to boxing and we want to recognize leaders of the world who support our sport.?

Sulaiman said they want to let them, leaders such as President Arroyo know that ?we the people in boxing see that and applaud that.?

President Arroyo is best known for her continued care and concern for Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao even before he became an internationally recognized ring warrior. She has also regularly welcome young fighters who have performed with distinction against worthy opponents abroad.

Sulaiman said one of the things he was looking forward was to meeting WBC founding secretary general and longtime friend, the eminent lawyer Rudy Salud who was at one time head of the WBC ratings committee where Sulaiman served during the presidency of the late Games and Amusements chairman Justiniano Montano Jr.
