THE RED Boxing International of Rey ?Cacoi? Almirante Rodis II has given a health insurance policy to its two current professional boxers Recky ?The Terror? Dulay and Rey ?Technician? Perez.

Both Dulay and Perez are now insured with the AETNA Insurance Company.

?Boxing is a contact sport. Kung naa mahitabo sa ilaha, their family will get a financial assistance,? said Rodis, a grandson of the late boxing promoter-manager Dr. Antonio Almirante from Cagayan de Oro and a nephew of former WBC world super featherweight champion Rene Barrientos.

Cacoi?s father Rey Rodis Sr. is also a former boxing promoter in CDO and Cebu.

?I want my boxer?s family to be also secured in case something happens on our boxers,? said Rodis.

Dulay (10W-3L-0D, 7 KOs) and Perez (21W-8L-0D, 6KOs) signed their insurance policies with AETNA representative Bobby Gevero last Oct. 23.

?We don?t cut corners. We take care of our fighters,? said Rodis.

?Timely kaayo ni pag kuha namo ug insurance kay my namatay na boxer sa Pilipinas? (This insurance is very timely because a boxer had just died in the Philippines),? he added.

Jeffrey Claro of Palawan died last Sunday after he collapsed after a sparring session in Manila last Friday.

Claro was part of the group that was found to have fake CT scan and was asked by the Games and Amusements Board to submit a new CT Scan with plates included.

Claro?s license was never revoked but he was just not allowed to have professional fights until he submits a new CT Scan. He was scheduled to fight but was postponed twice.
Claro (1W-4L-OD) was due for first week November promotion that is why he started practicing.
