Three exciting bouts will be featured at the Staples Center in Carson, California on September 9. In the opening bout, former world champions from Mexico face each other starring Carlos Cuadras (36-1-1, 27 KOs) of Mexico City engaging Juan Francisco Estrada (35-2, 25 KOs) of Sonora in a scheduled 12-round super flyweight match. Cuadras, 28, and Estrada, 27, both defeated by Roman ?Chocolatito? Gonzalez, and are seeking a shot at the super flyweight title.

The main event features the sport?s most anticipated rematch when Thailand?s Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (43-4-1, 39 KOs) defends his super flyweight title against Nicaragua?s Roman ?Chocolatito? Gonzalez (46-1, 38 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round bout. The two 30-year-old ring warriors are set to encounter again just six months after their exciting title fight at Madison Square Garden, with Gonzalez blemishing his undefeated record by a controversial majority decision.

In the co-main event, Naoya Inoue (13-0, 11 KOs) of Yokohama, Japan, defends his share of the super flyweight title against Cleveland?s Antonio Nieves (17-1-2, 9 KOs) in scheduled 12-round bout. Inoue, 24, makes his U.S. debut following a fast start to his pro career, having captured a world title in just his sixth professional fight and successfully defended his super flyweight title five times. Nieves, 30, is making his first bid for a world title and looks to disrupt Inoue?s campaign in the 115-pound division.

Carlos "Principe" Cuadras (36-1-1, 27 KO's), former World Boxing Council superflyweight champion, has stated that this September 9th he aims to defeat Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada (35-2, 25 KO's) and then wait for the outcome of the match between Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, to know who he will face for the title fight.

"We are preparing very hard for what is coming. Honestly I think Estrada?s style will be more difficult than 'Chocolate' or Rungvisai, I have already faced these two and the truth is they are not extraordinary, as neither hits hard, the Thai and I are sure I defeated 'Chocolate'. But sooner or later I'll run into him again and he will not be saved " promised Cuadras.

On August 26th, former four division champion Miguel Cotto will be facing Yoshihiro Kamegai at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Cotto (40-5, 33 KO's) says this will be his last year in the sport of boxing and in the Japanese boxer he's facing a durable and rugged opponent. The contest is Cotto's first since suffering a twelve round decision loss to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in November 2015.

"He's a tough, tough guy," said Freddie Roach, Cotto's coach. "Thing is, I think Miguel should knock him out somewhere along the way but up till that point it will be really tough. He'll be in his face all night." Kamegai is tougher than he is talented and could challenge Cotto physical conditioning and perseverance. "We'll break him down and we'll knock him out at some point along the way," vowed Roach.

The bout between five division world champion Floyd Mayweather and Mixed Martial Arts star Conor McGregor is not a superfight but is a farce, according to Britain?s former undisputed heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis. "There is tremendous build-up and hype but I don?t really take it as a serious fight,? said Lewis.

?Everybody wants to know what?s going to happen. Is McGregor going to throw a kick because, obviously when he resorts to boxing and realizes he is no match for Mayweather, what will he do? How will he get around that? No other boxers from 49 fights have figured out how to beat Mayweather ? now a UFC fighter that doesn?t even have a boxing career is trying to beat him at boxing ? I think it?s a farce to a certain degree,? declared Lewis.

Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk announced that Manny Pacquiao would fight in Brisbane for a rematch with Jeff Horn. "This is now confirmed it will happen," Quirk said to Fairfax. "The details around a renewed contract will have to be worked through but given what I have no been advised today through Duko and Top Rank we are in a position now where Brisbane Marketing will be re-engaged to get involved in the negotiation plan."

According to Quirk that the good news is Manny Pacquiao will definitely be in Brisbane to fight Jeff Horn this year. "We know the end of the year is getting closer. We need a lead time if we're going to promote this event to its fullest. But I can now confirm out of America and New Zealand through both Top Rank and Duco that Manny Pacquiao will be here this year to fight," said Lord Mayor Quirk.

The Philippines recorded its worst finish in the FIBA Asia tournament in eight years. The Powerade-sponsored Team Pilipinas got 8th place in the 2009 edition in China. The FIBA Asia 2017 is the worst place by Gilas Pilipinas since the program started in 2010. The first Gilas team finished fourth in the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship. Gilas 2.0 and Gilas 3.0 was able to make it to the finals of both the 2013 and 2015 FIBA Asia and both won a silver medal each. The young Australian Boomers have won the FIBA Asia Cup 2017 in their first time with a masterful 79-56 victory over Iran in the gold medal match.
