Filipino Dexter Alimento(L) and South African Deejay Kriel successfully made weight ahead of their 12-rounder clash for the vacant WBC International 105-lbs Title today Sunday (July 23) in Gauteng, South Africa.
The WBC judges will be Mrs. Sylvia Mokaila of South Africa, Ferdinand Estrella of San Pedro in Laguna, Philippines and Joseph Chaane of South Africa. The third man in the ring will be Thabo Spampool of South Africa.
The boxers looked in good shaped during the weigh-in and medical checks, both warriors getting their process of re-hydration right after the weigh-in ceremony with the Filipino Alimento and his team heading towards the buffet at their plush 5-star hotel.
During the important title fight, the hard-hitting 21 year-old Dexter Alimento (12-1, 8 KO's) will be assisted by his manager Rey Marban of Marban Boxing Promotions and his stablemate/boxer/cornerman "The Tornado" Junjesie Ibgos.
The exchange of artillery against Deejay Kriel (11-1-1, 6 KO's) will take place at Emperor's Palace Hotel, the rumble being a crucial battle for the two young up-and-coming fighters at an important moment in their boxing careers.
A solid victory would propel the winner into the top-15 minimumweight boxers by the WBC with the possibility of facing the WBC world champion, who as of today is undefeated 47-0 Thailander Chayaphon Moonsri (also known as Wanheng Menayothin).
The world champ Moonsri has been ordered by the WBC to defend against mandatory challenger WBC Latino Champ Leroy Estrada (16-2, 6 KO's) of Panama; with he victorious of the Monsri vs Estrada clash (likely to take place in Thailand), looking for a challenger.

MORE ABOUT ALIMENTO AND KRIEL
Dexter Alimento, of Iligan City in The Philippines, comes from a rather easy round 3 TKO win over the already softened 71-fight journeyman Rodel Tejares (21-43-7, 6 KO's in Bukidnon last March. The Filipino's one and only defeat in 13 rumbles was a close, controversial split-decision lost last October in Tokyo.
Menahile, Deejay Kriel, whose boxing idol is Floyd Mayweather Jr., dropped out of school to follow boxing and is now managed and trained by coach Colin Nathan and is promoted by South Africa's Golden Gloves Promotions of veteran man of boxing Rodney Berman.
In his latest combat last April, the Deejay Kriel had a tough opponent in Xolisa Magusha (7-2-1, 4 KO's) of Eastern Cape at Kriel's second home, the Emperors Palace. The shorter Kriel had to sweat extra hard to score the close 8-round unanimous decision win over the southpaw Magusha, who proved to be a spirited competitor.
The Deejay Kriel vs Dexter Alimentor for the vacant WBC International Minimumweight Title today (July 23) at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa, is a production of South African's Golden Gloves. The fight will not be televised live.
