CHICAGO -- Leading by 10 points with 2:29 to go in the fourth quarter, the New York Knicks appeared on their way to a huge road win, one that would arrest a two-game slide.

But fate had other plans as the Philadelphia 76ers went on a 15-4 run to pull a 98-97 shocker Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

"I don't even know what to say about this one," said a stunned Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, who tallied 28 points but went scoreless (0-for-3) in the fourth quarter.

Derrick Rose had a brilliant game (25 points on 11 for 16 shooting) but it wasn;t enough to prevent New York from dropping nine of its last 10 games. Kyle O'Quinn added 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Knicks, who shot 48.8 percent from the field and dropped to 11th place in the Eastern Conference with a 17-22 record.

Joel Embid paced the Sixers with 21 points and 14 rebounds while Elsan Ilyasova pumped in 16. Nerlens Noel had 13 and 8 boards while TJ McConnell, who drilled the game-winning jumper as time expired, finished with eight markers.

The Sixers improved to 11-25. (HDS)
