Along Denoy, who won the WBO Asia Pacific light flyweight title with a spectacular fifth round TKO over Thailand’s Kaichon Sor Vorapin last July 13 in Rachaburi Province, will defend his title in a third clash with Kaichon to be held in Bangkok on October 3.

With his TKO loss in a fight where he was dropped twice in the fourth round and twice once again in the fifth after Denoy himself hit the canvas in the second round, Kaichon dropped from No.1 to No. 6 in the latest Asia Pacific ratings of the WBO while Denoy, despite his impressive victory was surprisingly at No.14.

In their first encounter on July 8, 2005 Denoy lost by a sixth round technical decision before he avenged that loss last July in sensational fashion in an action-packed bout. This will be the third meeting between the 23 year old Denoy who hails from Candijay, Bohol and has a record of 15-6-1 with 8 knockouts and Kaichon who is 25 years old and sports a record of 25-10 with 9 knockouts.

Denoy told us after he won the title that his excellent physical condition helped him survive the second round knockdown and fight back to turn the tide aganst the Thai champion. Renowned boxing patron Tony Aldeguer commended Denoy saying he is “a disciplined fighter and a good boy.”

Denoy is hoping that one more impressive win over Kaichon will possibly put him in line for a title shot against WBO champion Hugo Cazares of Mexico.
