Las Vegas, NV - Nowadays, during the week, Manny Pacquiao is dressed in a good-looking suit and debates with his fellow lawmakers in the floor of Philippine Senate.

Tonight, that suit is off, his title is set aside and the explanation of Law and Jurisprudence emanated from his powerful fists.

An elected lawmaker by a country of a hundred million, Manny Pacquiao wears his other favorite uniform - a boxing shorts, a mouthguard and a pair of gloves and achieved what no one else has done - the world's only senator slash world champion.

Pacquiao, who holds a stellar boxing career record of 58-6-2 (38 KOs ) defeated erstwhile World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title holder, Jessie Vargas (27-1, 10 KOs) by Unanimous Decision (118-109, 118-109 and 114-113) in 12 rounds of championship pugilism at the Thomas and Mack Center here in the Fight Capital of the world.

The eight-time world champion reclaimed his former title belt that he lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. last year in a fan-friendly but lopsided victory against a competitor that is ten years his junior.

Pacquiao, a month shy of his 38th birthday, dominated the 27 year-old Vargas and decked him once in the 2nd round with his hard left. His hand and foot speed overwhelmed Vargas, who had a hard time responding with a meaningful counter to rattle Pacquiao.

Vargas had a good 4th round, he scored a straight right to steal the round after some heated exchanges. His best round came in the 6th, he unloaded a pair of straight rights that surprised Pacquiao.

"We caught him a couple of times with the right hand that made him more cautious," described Vargas.

But that was all he wrote as Pacquiao proved that he is leagues ahead of the young champion. His hand speed, ring movement and power was a puzzle for Vargas like his previous foes.

Pacquiao jolted Vargas with his left hooks and run circles around him in the second half of the fight. He head-hunted with his punches against a game foe. He searched for that elusive KO win that has evaded him for years against an opponent that was willing to exchanged with him - but the knockout never came.

What came was another title, another impressive victory and a new accomplishment in his boxing career.

"He's a very experienced fighter. He's a legend," admitted Vargas.

Pacquiao is just that - a Legend. A legendary social figure who battles prime young warriors with his strong fists during fight nights and a diligent legislator during the day. This is the stuff that you can only read in a DC comic book and watch in Marvel movies and we are watching in unfold in the squared ring.

Senator Manny Pacquiao - the new WBO welterweight king - proves to us all that superheroes do exist.
