Las Vegas, NV - Popular Chinese fighter, Zou Shiming (8-1, 2 KOs) captured his first world title with a masterful performance agaisnt Prasitak Phaprom (39-1-2, 24 KOs) of Thailand.

Shiming knocked down, boxed, clowned, taunted and dominated the experienced Phaprom in 12 rounds of action to open the Pay-Per-View for Manny Pacquiao- Jesse Vargas at the Thomas and Mack Center.

The new champ scored a knockdown in the 2nd with a right hook that sent Phaprom to the canvas. He reddened the Thai fighter's face red with well-placed speedy shots early in the fight and then moved cleverly to avoid his opponent's attempts of avenging the knockdown.

Shiming,35, was bestowed the vacant WBO World Flyweight belt after registering perfect scores of 120-107 on two cards and a score of 119-108 on the third judge.

This is Shiming's second try at a world title in only his 10th bout after a stellar career in the amateurs.
