20 year old Filipino Carlo Demecilo lost a unanimous ten round decision to Japanese featherweight Hisashi Amagasa who dropped unbeaten Guillermo Rigondeaux twice in an unsuccessful title shot in 2014 when he retired in the 11th round.

Hall of Fame matchmaker and media man Joe Koizumi reported that the elongated Japanese featherweight Hisashi Amagasa (31-6-2, 20 KOs), 125.25, returned to ring action and defeated the durable Filipino who had a record of 6-3, 1 KO, 124.25, by a unanimous decision.

Kasunori Asao scored it 99-93, Suehiro Suchiya turned in a 98-92 scorecard and Yuji Fukuchi 97-94.

Koizumi said they battled over ?ten tough rounds? at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

For Amagasa, it was his first appearance since he lost to British prospect Josh Warrington in Leeds, UK, last April.

Koizumi reported that ?Amagasa started fireworks from the outset and was in command in earlier rounds. Demecillo, with a good amateur career, showed his retaliation in the fourth, but the Japanese fought back hard in the sixth and it became a see-saw affair with Amagasa taking the initiative despite absorbing some solid counters. ?

He added that, Amagasa accelerated his last surge in the ninth and tenth rounds looking to score a knockout but the Filipino refused to go down to show his heart.
