Filipinos fight fans will get a chance to see two champions in action when newly crowned WBO bantamweight champion Gerry Pe?alosa and North American Boxing Federation super bantamweight champion Bernabe Concepcion go after each other in a four round exhibition bout at the Metropolis Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa on September 16.
The boxing special will be staged in the basketball court at the Metropolis Mall.
Pe?alosa told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that since it’s a Sunday he would ask the permission of Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao to allow celebrated trainer Freddie Roach to fly to Manila for a brief coaching clinic during the event which will also feature some promising fighters on the card.
In an opportunity for fans to get to know Pe?alosa better and to find out his plans for the future, there will also be a question and answer session as part of the proceedings which will be graced by the presence of Senate President Manny Villar and Congresswoman Villar.
The boxing special will be featured on the top-rated weekly boxing show “The Main Event” over RPN 9 and replayed over the popular sports and entertainment cable station Viva Prime sponsored by Tanduay, the No.1 Rhum, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
