SABILLO BATTLES RYUYA YAMANAKA FOR OPBF MINIMUM WEIGHT TITLE

Former World Boxing Organization minimum weight champion Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo battles Japan?s Ryuya Yamanaka for the Orient Pacific Boxing Federation title at the Ota Central Gym in Kobe, Japan on November 11.

The 32 year old southpaw Sabillo has a record of 25-3-1 with 12 knockouts while Yamanaka who is just 21 years old, sports a record of 12-2 with 3 knockouts.

Sabillo defeated Colombia?s Luis de la Rodsa to win the WBO Interim title via an 8th round TKO on March 9, 2013. He was later elevated to full champion when original champion Moises Fuentes relinquished the title to love up to light flyweight.

Sabillo made hism first successful title defense against Jorlie Estrada on July 13, 2013 and then defended his crown with a controversial split decision win over Nicaragua?s Carlos Buitrago before losing the title by a 10th round TKO to Francisco Rodriguez on March 22, 2014.

Sabillo dropped a split decision to Riku Kano in an OPBF Interim title fight last May 8 in Hyogo, Japan.

Yamanaka won his last fight by a 3rd round TKO over Thoedkiad Weerachon of Thailand last May 16 in a scheduled eight round bout in Hyogo, Japan.
