MANILA --- Cris Alfante and Joe Noynay both knocked out their rivals to capture the separate vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver titles on Friday night at the Flash Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Center in Sukat, Paranaque.

Alfante of the Elorde Boxing Gym used his stinging jabs and left-right combinations to stop former world-contender Roilo ?The Beautiful Filipino Boxer? Golez in the 9th round. Alfante, 24, was already enjoying a comfortable lead on the judges? scoresheets before Golez was finally caught by a solid left near the ropes.

?Nahilo talaga ako sa suntok nya. Sumakit talaga ang ulo ko,? (I was really hurt by his punches. I felt real pain on my head) said Golez, who said that he will finally hang up his gloves to become a trainer again.

Golez, now with 16 wins-15 losses-1 draw-7 KOs, was already starting to be a trainer. But he made a successful comeback fight when he knocked out Diarh Gabutan (19-5-3) in the 5th round last June 10 in Mandaluyong.

?Nahirapan din ako sa kanya,? (I also had a hard time on him) said Alfante, who last won the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council minimumweight title via a unanimous decision against Oliver Gregorio in 2013.

In his previous fight, Alfante dropped a UD to Andrew Moloney last June 24 in Australia. The native of Manukan, Zamboanga del Note improved his record to 12 wins with 6 losses, 1 draw and 4 knockouts. He was awarded a golden belt donated by Jun Soriano Realty from San Francisco, USA by WBC Asia supervisor Dr. Nasser Cruz, Games and Amusements Board Chairman Abraham Khalil ?Baham? Mitra and promoter Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde Jr.

Noynay, on the other hand, made a quick work on Danilo Gabisay of MP Highland Boxing Gym via a knockout in 1:37 of the first round to cop the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver featherweight title.

Noynay of the Misako Boxing Stable from Tokyo, Japan received a golden belt donated by Yasushi Shintoku.

Four other boxers from the Elorde Boxing Gym also won in the undercard. Roldan Aldea forced Benjie Suganob to quit during the rest period in the 6th round for a technical knockout. Glen Medura also stopped Menard Avila of Penalosa Gym via a TKO in 1:36 of the first round while Rommel Oliveros thrice send to canvas Jilo Merlin of Brothers Boxing Stable for a 2nd round TKO.
Argie Guibaba won by a majority decision against Ryan Penola of JMC Boxing Stable. Eranio Semillano settled a majority draw with Jano Gym?s John Rey Logatiman while Al Toyogon had a split draw with Kambal Kamao?s Jimboy Rosales.

The boxing card was presented by the Elorde International Productions and was sponsored by Sports 5, Powcast.net and Bugsy?s Bar.
